POMPANO BEACH - A complaint was filed on October 26, 2016 by a man and woman alleging that Winn Dixie was negligent in a slip and fall.
According to the complaint, the slip and fall occurred on October 27, 2012 when the Defendant allegedly allowed oil/grease to remain on the floor for long enough that the Plaintiff, Melissa Elam, slipped and fell.
As a result, Melissa Elam suffered serious injuries including, but not limited to, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, and loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life. Additionally, She was forced to incur the expense of hospitalization and nursing care and treatment.
Furthermore, her husband, Joel Elam, claims his loss of consortium was due to Winn Dixie's negligence.
The Plaintiffs demand judgment against the Defendant for damages in excess of $15,000, costs, and any other relief the Court may deem appropriate. Additionally, the Plaintiffs are represented by Adam G. Sher, ESQ. of Adam Scher Law Group, P.A in Hollywood.
