FORT LAUDERDALE - An incident that occurred in the Fort Lauderdale International Airport lead to a lawsuit, according to a complaint filed on October 5, 2016.
On October 10, 2012, Betty Curtis was riding on an elevator that was maintained by Schindler Elevator Corporation. The elevator allegedly lifted from the first floor towards the second floor and then dropped suddenly and caused her to lose her balance and twist her body violently to catch the handrail.
This caused serious injuries including disfigurement and pain and suffering.
Betty Curtis alleges the Defendant was negligent in failing to properly inspect and maintain the elevator and failing to warn her about the dangerous condition.
Betty Curtis now demands judgment against Schindler Elevator Corporation for compensatory damages in excess of $15,000, interest on medical bills and costs and demands trial by jury of all issues triable. She is represented by Louis Thaler, Esq. of Louis Thaler, P.A. in Coral Gables.
